A fiery lamb curry


Look at this rice. The menu calls it "bitten rice" but it means "beaten." A Nepalese guy on the upper floor of the JR Nippori Station parboils rice, pounds it flat like oatmeal chips and lets it dry. The result is a crispy complement to a spicy mutton curry. The dish is called mashu chiura. From the second-story north exit, turn right and follow the railing to the left. $4.90 USD.
